摘要
Li2B4O7 crystals were grown under various conditions by the horizontal Bridgman technique using a non-wetted graphite boat. Crystal quality was evaluated by measurement of the moisture content and observation of voids in the crystals. The density and sizes of the voids varied with the fraction of the melt solidified. The moisture content in the crystal was found to depend on growth rate, seed orientation, fraction solidified and moisture content in the raw materials. The segregation coefficient for water in LBO crystal is suggested to be about 0.5.
