摘要
Fast response automatic voltage regulators utilizing static semi-conductor elements are widely used in the systems of synchronous generators which are either isolated or connected to a large scale electric network. This paper presents an accurate circuit model for a rather recently used thyristor divert automatic voltage regulator, TDAVR. The tensor technique has been employed to develop a mathematical model describing the regulator. By the aid of this model, the performance and control characteristics of this regulator have been accurately determined. The effects of some different parameters of the regulator circuit upon its performance have been investigated. It is possible now to integrate this accurate circuit model with the already used circuit models of the synchronous generators and their exciters in place of the approximate transfer function model. Also, the model, being a detailed one, helps in proper design of the power and control circuit components of the studied AVR.
