Ten species of hydroptilid caddisflies were taken at light traps beside Tai Po Kau Forest Stream, New Territories, Hong Kong. Eight of these, in the genera Scelotrichia, Stactobia, Ugandatrichia, Hydroptila, Oxyethira and Orthotrichia, are newly described. The known distributions of the two established species (Oxyethira bogambara and O. campanula) are extended, and a key to males of Hong Kong Hydroptilidae is given. Preliminary data on hydroptilid flight periods over an annual cycle are also presented. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
