J.-Ch. Langlois and his Panorama "La Bataille de la Moskova"

This article attempts to describe the life and work of the creator of the first battle panoramas as a form of fine art, a veteran of the Napoleonic Wars, J.-Ch. Langlois. The focus is on the history of his panorama "La Bataille de la Moskova". An author of the article suggests an experience of the scientific expertise of the paintings from the point of view of modern ideas about the battle of Borodino. The conclusion is: Langlois reconstructed the circumstances of playing the Battle of Borodino, in terms of the French side, quite accurate.
