CORRELATION OF THE REACTIVITY OF KETONES RELATIVE TO DIFFERENT NUCLEOPHILES

摘要
For a series of 26 ketones, the nucleophilic reactivity with various nucleophiles (BH4-, CN-, SO32-, NH2OH, RS-) reveals a linear correlation of the type log k/k0 = B where k is the rate constant for a ketone and ko that for cyclohexanone; reverse reactions, i.e., carbinolamine decomposition, chromic acid oxidation, and decomposition of bisulfite addition compounds, show the same type of relationship. © 1979, American Chemical Society.
