EXTENDED TIME-CORRELATION OF IN-VITRO MOTILITY BY MOTOR PROTEIN

摘要
Cellular motility is mediated by protein motors such as myosin, dynein, and kinesin. We propose a simple but substantial extension of the statistical dynamical model by A. F. Huxley, in which we incorporate the spatial nonlocality of the cytoskeletal filaments translocated by protein motors. This model reveals the existence of the filament-length dependent temporal correlation in the translocation process, and is also in close agreement with recent in vitro experiments by K. Tawada, Y. Imafuku, and Y. Y. Toyoshima [Biophys. J. 68, 68s (1995)]. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
