摘要
This literature review has the objective of discovering the state of the art on cone beam CT (CBCT) and its various applications in dental practice. This diagnostic 3D imaging technology was developed, specifically, for head and neck, has increased popularity in recent years. Presents several and very useful applications in modern dentistry, for instance, the possibility of viewing several cuts or the possibility of being used in the dental office. But still there are some limitations to be overcome, including the price and the poor visualization of soft tissue. We searched several sources: Pubmed, Highwire, ScienceDirect and JADA magazine.
