摘要
This paper examines the contention that the writings of Alfred Schutz are not phenomenological. In particular, the indices of discontinuity between Schutz and Husserl previously expounded by Barry Hindess are considered. The article concludes that rather than being a Weberian working with a phenomenological gloss, Schutz is in fact a phenomenologist working with a Weberian gloss. I t is further held that the difficulties associated with Schutz's programme for sociology are a consequence of the phenomenological status of his work. © 1979, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
