A method is given for the manipulation of functions in the theory of currents. Limits in which the integrals may be evaluated are discussed. The conditions for the covariance of the retarded product are given both in general form and in these limits, assuming convergence and neglecting infinite-mass contributions. Useful equalities following from the equivalence of the various limits are obtained and discussed. © 1969 Società Italiana di Fisica.
