摘要
The optical characteristics of gain guided vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers under high frequency modulation were analyzed. A Δν × Δτ product of about 3.6 was determined. The dependence of dynamic chirp on the pulse width was modeled by numerical solution of rate equations. An anomalously significant change in the effective index of refraction with the carrier density was determined. This effect was ascribed to spatial hole burning.
