摘要
One of the most significant factors for an efficient filtration process is the chemical pretreatment of a suspension. This procedure is carried out to destabilize electrically charged solid particles. In this paper the bentonite suspensions with different polyelectrolyte concentrations were filtrated. The filter coefficient was taken as an efficiency parameter, which enabled prediction of optimal destabilization conditions, as well as good filtration. Furthermore, the changes of particle size distribution during filtration runs were measured to explain which polymer interaction was dominant and how the suspension dispersity affected filtration efficiency.
