Results of experimental studies of the propagation of low-frequency sound along a path of about 4000 km in the northwestern Pacific are discussed. Acoustic field calculations in the ray approximation are analyzed. The experimental and computational results agree satisfactorily, and the experimental data are used to validate various estimation formulas of spatial sound attenuation.
