摘要：

In two projects, experiments are being conducted in the several hundred kilowatt range on the research, development and demonstration of components and systems for a solar hydrogen energy economy: at Solar-Wasserstoff-Bayern GmbH (SWB) at a plant in Neunburg vorm Wald, as well as at the HYSOLAR project at installations in Stuttgart, Riyadh and Jiddah. The German government supports both projects financially; HYSOLAR is additionally funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Baden-Wurttemberg; SWB by the Free State of Bavaria. This presentation discusses the technical and scientific goals of the two projects, their financing and their substance; significant results from the first phase of each project are presented. Both projects are about to enter phase 2, whose goals are described, followed by an outline of early niche applications and an appraisal of the solar hydrogen energy economy option.
