A computer simulation for restoring the three-dimensional (3D) surface from the reflection electron microscopy (REM) image and corresponding reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED) pattern is presented. An application is demonstrated using a facetted (1120) surface of α-Al2O3 single crystals. © 1990.
