UNLOADING COMPLIANCE METHOD WITH NORMAL PRECISION INSTRUMENTATION - ROTATION CORRECTIONS

摘要
An unloading compliance test method for CT and 3P-SENB was developed in order to be applied to fracture toughness tests. The method consists of the use of a high sensitivity low range displacement transducer which is mechanically set to zero before each unloading begins. A high sensitivity is obtained with normal precision instrumentation as well as the sensitivity shift error is eliminated. A rotation correction equation for displacement in CT specimens was deduced because the corresponding one given by ASTM is not applicable to this method, also load and displacement rotation correction equations for 3P-SENB specimens are shown. A study of the influence of different parameters in the rotation correction factor, RCF, was carried out. © 1990.
