1. 1. The skin temperatures of toes in 50 aged subjects had a distribution between 20 and 35°C, with an underlying bimodal distribution with peaks at 22°C and 32°C. 2. 2. Large toes tended to be warmer than small toes. 3. 3. There was no direct or obvious relation between room temperature and toe temperature. 4. 4. Nor was there any statistical correlation between age and toe temperature. 5. 5. Histogram analysis suggested that there might be a double population, even among clinically similar old women. © 1979.
