摘要：

The guided design approach to educating students for the practice of civil engineering has been used for the laboratory portion of a senior-level highway design project because of its emphasis on decision-making and communication. A commitment to practice-oriented educational programs is reflected in the unusual approach to highway design described. 15 refs.
