摘要
Strength measurement is often part of the physical assessment in physiotherapy practice. Patients with osteoarthrosis of the knee often have strength deficits of knee extensor und flexor muscles. In order to interpret strength measurements taken during treatment the use of a feasible, reliable and valid assessment tool is important. This study assessed the intra- und intertester reliability of a modified hand-held dynamometer (HDD) in 50 healthy subjects. The HDD proved to be a reliable assessment tool with good intra-class correlation coefficients for strength measurement of the knee muscles. The relatively high error of measurement does however limit the use of the strength measurement in individual patients; future studies should evaluate an improved standardisation.
