RESONANCE-ABSORPTION OF A HIGH-FREQUENCY ELECTROMAGNETIC-FIELD IN A MESOSCOPIC RING

摘要
It is shown that a normal-metal mesoscopic ring threaded by a static magnetic field and placed in a uniform circularly polarized electric field rotating in the plane of the ring shows resonance absorption of the electric field energy. The resonance absorption frequency depends linearly on the static magnetic field and on the number of electrons in the ring. The sip of the difference between the resonance frequencies of the right-rotating and left-rotating fields absorption is determined by whether the number of electrons in the ring is even or odd. The total power absorbed by the ring placed in an electric field with a linear polarization is calculated.
