摘要：

This paper analyzes the founding of the Federal Technological University of Parana - UTFPR - in the context of expansion of higher education. Questions the major changes in this process and discusses the current configuration of the institution. Uses literature, analysis of normative documents of higher education and UTFPR documents and data from interviews. Starts, presenting UTFPR in the midst of recent changes in the expansion process. Among the results, it points out that the main changes effected in UTFPR have developed remarkably, driven by pos-graduation and are being consolidated with the implementation of REUNI, in which emphasizes the degree courses and bachelor's degree.
