摘要
The present study was conducted to investigate the interconnectedness among self-other concepts (images of self, ideal self and of the other person, inferences of the other person's cognition concerning the subject and of himself, the other person's actual images of the subject and of himself), and effects of self-esteem and affect upon them. Subjects were 56 high school boys and girls. Main conclusions are: (1) High self-esteem person's concepts arc congruent within each other, but low self-esteem person's concepts are differentiated into 3 groups (concepts concerning self, the other person, ideal self), (2) Tendency concerning assumed similarity is owing to idealization tendency, (3) the main effect of affect is the idealization of the other person. © 1968, The Japanese Psychological Association.
