摘要：

The article is devoted to the professional and personal life of the Colonel Muhamedgali Taukin. Colonel Muhamedgali Taukin was the one of the first Kazakh officials, Sultan of Junior Zhuz, the ruler of the Western region of Orenburg territory, during period of the Russian Empire. M. Taukin presented as one of the largest and most famous sultans, rulers in the Kazakh steppe, intelligent, educated and talented manager, loyal duty in the documents from Russian archives which the first time introduced into scientific circulation. He was known as a supporter of soft management techniques of the steppe and showed sympathy for the Kazakhs needs, protected their interests. The article highlights the achievements of the M. Taukin as the ethnographer.
