摘要
Radiation-induced polymerisation of various monomers, using gamma-rays, is a very effective method for encapsulating titanium dioxide and other solids. Preferential polymerisation occurs on the surfaces when the system is suspended in a solution of the monomers in CF2ClCFCl2. Addition of a proportion of methacrylic acid is beneficial to promote polymerisation on the surface, which appears to arise from initial adsorption, followed by initiation.
