MICROCEFALIA CONCERNED BY CONGENITAL INFECTION BY ZIKA VIRUS

In 2014 the Zika virus was found in Brazil and a priori spread only with symptoms similar to other viral diseases such as Chikungunya and dengue. However in 2015, a large outbreak of newborn children with microcephaly occurred, the self- index of children born with malformation led the specialists to investigate the causes. The main objective of this work is to present microcephaly as a hematological disease caused by the Zika virus. The methodology used is characterized as an exploratory and descriptive bibliographical review in order to accurately search for relevant data on the subject addressed and to describe with pertinence about the phenomenon studied, bringing up-to-date and accurate information about microcephaly affected by Zika virus, as well as prevention for pregnant women and care for children born with microcephaly. The results found show that the outbreak of children with microcephaly is related to the Zika virus case. The data showed many probable cases of the disease, currently the virus is controlled throughout the country, however, science itself provides further research to seek concrete evidence of the Zika virus versus microcephaly relationship, as well as means of prevention and appropriate treatments for women of fertile age and gestational age.
