OPTIMIZATION OF START-UP AND SHUT-DOWN OPERATION OF CONVERTERS IN SULFURIC-ACID PLANTS

摘要
There are presented results of the lab studies on the effect of start-up and shut-down parameters of converters on catalytic activity and mechanical properties of the vanadium catalyst. There has been determined the limit of the temperature rise rate in the reactor, filled with fresh and already exploited catalyst. Optimum parameters of the catalyst air blowing have been also determined. In studies, various possible effects of damp and steam on the commercial catalyst have been evaluated after thermal processing in damp atmosphere and after saturation of sample with moisture.
