摘要
A component as fundamentally useful as a continuously variable RF/microwave delay line has eluded designers for decades. This article shows how a photonic system can be used not only to realize such a component, but how a large number of these delay lines can be spatially integrated to achieve extremely high packing density. Applications of systems of this type to phased-array antennas and adaptive filtering are presented along with experimental results.
