M-SHELL IONIZATION IN GD, ER, AND AU BY SLOW PROTONS

M X-ray yields were measured from 50 to 300 keV protons striking thick targets of Gd, Er, and Au. Sub-shell and total X-ray production cross sections were determined and compared with calculations from ECPSSR theory. Generally, the ECPSSR theory under-predicted the experimental cross sections.
