TRANSIENT STUDIES ON INTRAMICELLAR EXCIMER FORMATION - USEFUL PROBE OF THE HOST MICELLE

摘要
Transient studies on the monomer-excimer reactions of pyrene and sodium 5-[1-pyrenyl]pentanoate in the cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) and sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) micelles lead to estimates of [MT] (total micelle concentration) and kE (rate constant for intramicellar excimer formation). Changes in [MT] and kE are observed with additives >1.0 × 10-3 M (sodium hexanoate in CTAC and n-dodecyl alcohol in SDS). © 1979.
