Is the Document Support a Document as Such ? The Example of Paper

The purpose of this article(2) is to analyse the document support using an information perspective. The author applied the elements of the document theory put forward by Niels Windfeld Lund, with regard to the document support and concluded that the support is also a document. She ends with a discussion of the possible benefits when considering massive scanning of documents. Her idea is supported by two examples of 17th century paper documents.
