摘要
In the past, the management of strictures of the renal arteries relied mainly on reconstructive surgery using prostheses or venous grafts. Today, these methods are being shelved in favor of transluminal percutaneous angioplasty, especially in high-risk cases or in patients with only one kidney (case report). After reviewing the long-term results of 75 consecutive patients submitted to surgery for renal artery strictures (30 reconstructed with prostheses and 45 with venous grafts), the authors maintain that there is still a place for this type of surgery in particular situations such as the two long-term complications reported (case reports).
