LESIONS IN MIDBRAIN RETICULAR FORMATION AND STARTLE RESPONSE IN RATS

摘要
After receiving bilateral lesions in the midbrain reticular formation, rats showed no tendency toward habituation of the startle response to an acoustic stimulus. Control animals exhibited a reduction of over 60 per cent in the amplitude of the startle reaction under the same conditions. Disturbances in eating and drinking behavior were also noted in animals with reticular lesions. © 1968.
