摘要
A time domain finite element method is presented for analyzing lossy dispersive microwave planar networks. The method employs the leap-frog scheme to simulate numerically the wave propagation inside the network by solving a boundary value problem at each time step. The unique feature of this technique is that the spatial domain is discretized with first-order finite elements while the time domain is discretized with finite differences. The method is illustrated with practical applications from microwave integrated circuits.
