摘要
A false positive result was found in 0.7 % of 1603 pat.; among 424 operatively treated, 2.3 % had false negative cytological findings. Sonographs not only permit a differention between cystic and solid structures, but also a subdivision into regressive, inflammatory and tumor-suspicius types. Furthermore, sonography is indicated in supressed tissues, goiter during pregnancy and solitary nodules during childhood. Computer tomography is indicated for retrosternal and intrathoracic goiters. Infiltrative extracapsular extension of a malignant goiter can be detected. © 1979 Springer-Verlag.
