摘要
In a mathematical model describing the operation of three-dimensionally porous flow-through electrodes, the inconstancy Of CondUCtiVity, kappa(l)(x, t), of the liquid phase was taken into account which results from gas evolution occurring in a nonuniform way within the electrode. Different ways of attachment and detachment of gas bubbles were considered as functions of orientation of the graphitic carbon fibers constituting the electrode material. The relative numbers of bubbles leaving the electrode and remaining attached to it were estimated. A mathematical model for calculating the source strength of gas evolution and the amount of gas being evolved was constructed; it was based on the compilation of mass-balance equations.
