摘要
Catalysts containing 10 wt.% of Pt and MnO2 supported on coated metallic foams by gamma-alumina were examined for H2O2 decomposition. Catalysts were prepared by impregnation of a high-porous gamma-alumina (coating layer) surface area. Surface area measurements, SEM micrographs, and H-2 chemisorption gave evidence of a uniform distribution of the active phases. Catalytic tests were performed in a batch reactor with 30 wt.% concentration of H2O2 solution. The catalytic activity, defined by temperature of ejected gas products and the pressure slopes, was higher at the beginning of the tests and decreased versus time in the case of both foam catalysts. Otherwise, MnO2-based catalyst was more active for this application.
