POLYCHLORINATED-BIPHENYLS IN THE HYDROSPHERE OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA

摘要：
This paper summarizes the determination of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other organochlorine pollutants in water and sediments in three different areas: Labe River, Jizera River and three Sumava Lakes. The bottom sediments from industrialized areas are strongly polluted by PCBs (100 - 1,900 ng/g). Due to extensive use of PCBs in Czechoslovakia, the intensity of atmospheric transport to non-industrialized areas (Sumava Mountains) is comparable with that reported in the USA during the 1970's.
