摘要
The important physical phenomenon of bubble disproportionation has been theoretically assessed for a semi-batch foaming system. To simulate the resulting evolution in bubble size distribution a dynamic solution algorithm based on population balance methodology, incorporating bubble growth/shrinkage kinetics and film drainage effects, has been developed. The model predictions regarding the influence of bubble residence time and dispersed phase solubility on the rate of degradation of foam in such a system are analyzed, in an effort to identify the salient factors that affect the change in bubble size distribution.
