COMPRESSIBILITY EFFECTS DURING CRYSTAL-GROWTH FROM THE VAPOR-PHASE

摘要
The compressibility effects during the transient, for the physical vapour growth of HgI2 in argon in a closed ampoule are explored. The continuity, momentum and species conservation equations are solved by means of the pseudo compressible extention of the projection method for incompressible flows. The main results reflect these compressibility effects as: (a) the high value of the initial velocity; (b) the spreading in one time step, from one end of the ampoule to the other, of mass fraction changes due to thermal causes; (c) the moving along the cold zone of the maximum of the supersaturation rate during the transient which is in phenomenalogical agreement with experimental observations.
