The history as a frame. Critic of the histories of the design

The present text tries to draw attention on the need to find general and theoretical frameworks for the studies and the practices of design. The history of the design is considered one of those frames, and is from the historical discipline from where at the moment a basic thought for the design is being developed, in the absence of greater persistence and visibility of possible attempts from social and human sciences, like anthropology, sociology, economy, semiotics or communication, among other possible ones. A small investigation about main texts in use in the training centers allows to find typologies and trends in the possible directions of the discipline and the practices of design.
