Hydrogenation reaction of carbonyl compounds catalyzed by cationic ruthenium complexes

摘要
A ruthenium complex prepared from Ru(acac)(3), trioctylphosphine, and phosphoric acid ester showed high activity and selectivity in hydrogenation of succinic anhydride to 1,4-butanediol. The structure of the complex was assigned to be [RuH(H-2)(PR(3))(3)S]X or [RuH(PR(3))(3)S-2]X (S=solvent) which was more active than the neutral ruthenium complexes obtained from Ru(acac)(3) and trioctylphosphine without phosphoric acid esters.
