摘要
A model is presented of a type of loudspeaker which operates by release of compressed air through an aperture, the area of which is made to vary with time; the air passes into a throat and then into a duct, which radiates sound from its open end. Theoretical analysis leads to simple equations describing the acoustic characteristics of the device, and a numerical example is given of their use when applied to a particular loudspeaker built at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research in the University of Southampton. Details of the experimental work and results are presented in a companion paper. © 1990.
