This brief review of some IFAC Budapest Symposium papers concentrates only on those papers in which novel approaches to data-processing were presented, and summarizes the wider implications of the recent developments in control hardware whose importance emerged from the discussion sessions. Some of the other papers concerning specific control applications will be published in this journal, and the conference proceedings themselves will eventually be available in book form as indicated in the previous article; a review of the Symposium has been published [1]. © 1969.
