Statistical analysis is one of the most important aspects of research design because it reflects the validity of the results obtained and its clinical impact. The lack of statistical knowledge of many community pharmacists may negatively affect research despite interesting ideas or rigorous methodologies. This paper introduces the reader to the terminology and basic concepts of statistical analysis, providing the knowledge necessary for study design, appropriate analysis, and interpretation of results.
