POLYTOPES, NON-CRYSTALLINE STRUCTURES AND THEIR DIFFRACTIONS

摘要
The {3,3,5} polytope is an efficient model for tetrahedral close packed structures. In order to obtain realistic structures, it is necessary to decurve the space in which the {3,3,5} is embedded. This has been done by iterative procedures generating large polytopes of decreasing curvature. These polytopes are tetrahedral close packed structures with an hierarchical interfaced network of disclinations. This paper describes these structures, and relate them to diffraction patterns.
