摘要
We identify exciton breakup at the surface as the dominant source of photoelectron emission from negative electron affinity diamond (111): H for near band gap excitation up to 0.5 eV above threshold. Dependence of photoelectron emission characteristics upon excitation energy suggests the thermalization of carriers via a Fan phonon-cascade mechanism. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
