摘要
It is widely being accepted that Pb-addition enhances the stability and promotes single-phase formation of the high T(c) (2223) phase in the Bi-family of cuprate superconductors, and yet, the exact mechanism by which it takes place remains a subject to be explored. This paper discusses the nucleation and growth processes of the low and high T(c) phases of the above system which lead to the identification of an important role of Pb. The analysis is based on microstructural and XRD studies carried out on un-doped and Pb-doped samples of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O.
