RESONANT PRODUCTION OF DOUBLY CHARGED TIN IONS IN THE MULTIPHOTON IONIZATION OF TIN ALKYLS

摘要
Resonant production of doubly charged tin ions from multiphoton ionization of tetramethyltin and tetraethyltin molecules is observed in nanosecond multimode laser fields at intensities up to 50 GW/cm2. It is found that the Sn2+ ions are created in a stepwise process including the production of Sn+ ions and their subsequent resonant ionization. The production of Sn+ ions in the two lowest electronic states is observed.
