ENTHALPIES OF SOLUTION OF CITRATES AND HYDROGEN CITRATES OF LITHIUM, SODIUM, AND POTASSIUM

Enthalpies of solution of six citrates in water were measured in a Parr calorimeter. The molar enthalpies of solution are: ΔsolHm(298.22K, m = 0.01491 mol·kg-1) = -(51.42 ± 1.34) kJ·mol-1 for trilithium citrate tetrahydrate; ΔsolHm(298.14 K, m = 0.02817 mol·kg-1) = (6776 ± 160) J·mol-1 for trisodium citrate dihydrate; ΔsolHm (298.41 K, m = 0.01759 mol·kg-1) = (23.28 ± 0.63) kJ·mol-1 for disodium hydrogen citrate; ΔsolHm(298.37 K, m = 0.01175 mol·kg-1) = (27.79 ± 0.23x) kJ·mol-1 for sodium dihydrogen citrate; ΔsolHm(298.19 K, m = 0.01272 mol·kg-1) = (7087 ± 197) J·mol-1 for tripotassium citrate monohydrate; and ΔsolHm(298.08 K, m = 0.01795 mol·kg-1) = (35.43 ± 0.52) kJ·mol-1 for potassium dihydrogen citrate. © 1994 Academic Press.
