Shoulder ganglion cyst. Report on 6 cases and literature review

About an original serial of 6 cases of cyst around glenohumeral joint, with different clinical and anatomical aspects, the autors have realized a synthesis of litterature on this subject. These cysts are not so rare, with a ratio of 2 to 4 % in the general population. The aetiology is the lesion of glenoid labral, like the lesion of meniscus in the meniscal cysts of the knee. The most frequently complication of the periglenoid cyst is the compression of suprascapularis nerve. The RMI is the predilective radiological exploration and a shoulder arthroscopy leads to a complete treatment with evacuation of the cyst and a repairing of the labrum. The treatment by arthroscopy procedure give less morbidity than an open procedure and have to be the first way of surgical treatment.
