摘要：
This paper is drawn from work sponsored first by the CAA in 1981 and in 1992 jointly with FAA, as part of the Aging Aircraft initiative. The author was given carte blanche and a great deal of support to witness aircraft inspection in situ in UK and USA. He spent many happy hours with inspection personnel and this paper contains some of his thoughts on human factors and working conditions which affect this inspection.
